Royal Veterinary College - University of London, Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics & Public Health Group is looking for an experienced Epidemiologist with a strong research track record and ideally with experience in international projects. Continuing its pre-existing interdisciplinary Vietnam - UK One Health Poultry Hub collaboration, this new OHRIGAME project will explore the root causes of high antimicrobial drugs use in chicken farming. We have shown that overuse of antimicrobial drugs can lead to high levels of drug residues in chicken meat as well as increasing the environmental burden of antimicrobial resistance, posing risks to animal and human health. The position offers exciting research prospects at the multidisciplinary interface of quantitative epidemiology, food safety, microbiology/ analytical sciences. This is an opportunity for development of leadership skills through coordination and implementation of the research program in the UK and Vietnam. The successful candidate will engage with research collaborators in Vietnam (National Institute of Veterinary Research, Vietnam National University of Agriculture), Singapore (Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering) and London (University College London / Royal Free Hospital).

The position will be held at the Royal Veterinary College (Hawkshead Campus, near Potters Bar), with an opportunity to travel to Vietnam periodically.

The successful candidate will be affiliated with members of the Veterinary Epidemiology Economics and Public Health Group, part of the Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences (PPS).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team, contribute to impactful research at the interface of quantitative sciences, food safety and public health, and establish national and international collaborations.
