1. Background
The South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network, Inc. (SAFETYNET, Inc.) has been awarded an 18-month cooperative agreement by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) to implement the project entitled: Strengthening Urban Public Health System: Introducing Public Health Epidemiologist in City Corporation.
There are other partners in this project to implement the program. SAFETYNET Bangladesh is mainly entrusted to organize, conduct and monitor the training of Public health Epidemiologist (PHE), and will also organize the public health campaign in 12 city corporations of Bangladesh and Cox’sbazar and Bandarban District.
In response to the above requirements, SAFETYNET, Inc. has established a Bangladesh country coordination team to provide support for the effective implementation of the grant. The Training Coordinator will be an important member of the team to plan and successfully implement the training program.
2. Scope of Work
The Training Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Country Head, SAFETYNET Bangladesh. The assigned Training Coordinator will undertake the following tasks, activities, duties, and responsibilities:
Work closely with Country Head to plan, and coordinate PHE training activities and events.
Coordinate with other implementation partners, city corporations, and other stakeholders on project planning, implementation, and evaluation
Be responsible for all management and logistic coordination of the PHE training and public health campaigns.
Provide necessary support to Program Manager, administrative and support staff.
Working with the Country Head and technical consultants to preparer training schedules including didactic trading.
Manage and ensure logistic support for the PHE training participants.
Close liaison with Mentors, supervisor, resource persons for coordinating PHE training
Organize and coordinate the in-person training session of PHE training
Prepare and coordinate the submission of all reports required by Safetynet HQ and US CDC
Responsible to visit different City Corporations and CXB and Bandarban frequently.
Perform any other additional duty that may be assigned by country Head, Safetynet Bangladesh
3. Qualifications and Educational background
Essential: First university degree in Medicine, Health or Health-related sciences,
Desireable: Postgraduate degree in Public Health, program management.
4. Professional experience and knowledge
At least one-year experience in managing a public health program.
Experience in Training course coordination will be an advantage
Knowledge and experience in planning, monitoring and implementation of the program.
Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
Strong communication skills
5. Language Skills
Fluent in English speaking and writing.
6. Level of Effort: Five days per week
7. Period of Performance: Begins on June 15, 2021 and ends on September 30, 2021. May be extended.
