2nd Didactic Workshop for 2018 Viet Nam Applied Management Training Course in Ho Chi Minh City, July 2018

The 2nd workshop for this year’s Applied Management Training Course was held at the Institute of Public Health in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.  Participants came from Provincial Preventive Medicine Centers in AnGiang, Bac Giang, Ba Ria Vung Tau, BinhThuan, DakNong, KhanhHoa, Nam Dinh, and Quang Ninh.  Participants at the workshop presented progress reports on their respective quality improvement projects.  The projects delved into improving vaccination coverage and reporting, laboratory testing, ULV (ultra-low volume) spraying for dengue prevention and control, and event-based surveillance reporting.

 

Following the presentations, participants were instructed in the Basic Priority Rating System (BPRS) or Hanlon Method for prioritizing health problems, and introduced to the Health Analysis for Planning Prevention Services (HAPPS).  They will use these in designing health intervention plana for priority health problems in their respective areas.  These plans will be presented during the 3rd workshop to be held in Hanoi on September.

 

Dr. Do Mai Hoa, Mr. Nguyen Hoang, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Dr. Phuong Duc Nhat, Dr. Nguyen Minh Phuong, and Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy serve as faculty and field advisors for the AMTC workshop. SAFETYNET providestechnical support for the course.  Funding for the course is provided by the U.S.CDC through a cooperative agreement with SAFETYNET.
